These Terms of Use shall stipulate applicable matters with respect to users’ use of the website “YAMADA SHOTEN Online” (hereinafter referred to as the “Site”) operated by YAMADA SHOTEN Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “we,” “us” or “our”). Those users who wish to purchase items using the Site must read these Terms. By using the Site, users consent to the Terms of Use.

Article 1) Use of the Site

Users can purchase items from the Site, provided that these Terms are accepted. No charge for use of the Site will be required.

Article 2) Protection and Management of Personal Information

Unless required by law or there is any justifiable reason, we shall never disclose users’ personal information collected by us to third parties without consent. For details, please refer to the Privacy Policy.

Article 3) Order

• Users can order all in-stock items on the Site by predetermined methods. Users cannot cancel orders after shipments of items.
• In the event of any of the following events, we may not take users’ orders:
  • When we determine the order is inappropriate after we find and confirm that the order contains doubtful points.
  • When the sale price shown on the Site differs from the actual price due to human error.
  • When the item is out of stock, regardless of availability of the item on the Site.
  • Other cases when we find it necessary to refrain from doing so.

Article 4) Shipping

Shipping costs incurred in the course of delivery of items shall be borne by users, with some exceptions.

Article 5) Payment Methods

• Payments of purchase prices of items on the Site shall be made by users through bank transfers, credit card transactions, cash on delivery, postal transfers, or at our store.
• Payments of purchase prices are to be completed before shipment, except for payments at our store and cash on delivery.
• Shipping costs for items and handling charges incurred by bank or postal transfers shall be borne by users.
• Those users who wish to pay by credit cards are to confirm the following conditions before making payment:
  • Only VISA or Mastercard is accepted.
  • Payments shall be made in accordance with manners and regulations of the user’s credit card company.
  • The credit card must belong to the user himself/herself.

Article 6) Shipping Methods

• We ship our items using the designated carriers.
• We do not ship fragile items such as potteries and framed artworks abroad.
• Shipments are to be made after we receive and confirm payments for purchases.
• Deliveries may not be made on dates and/or times designated by users.

Article 7) Returns

We accept returns of orders only when the items have defects that are not indicated beforehand, or in other cases for which we are responsible.
Orders can only be returned within 3 days of receipt. We will pay for the shipping cost of returned items.
Refunds for canceled orders shall be made to users.

Article 8) Change, Suspension and Termination of the Website

We may change and/or modify the content of the Site, or suspend or terminate our service without prior notice to users. We shall not be responsible for any damage incurred as a result of such occasions.

Article 9) Denial of Access to the Site

Those users who breach the Terms or take inappropriate actions to cause damages to us or other users shall be denied access to the Site.

Article 10) Handling of Information

Users shall not use the Site except for personal use, or violate copyrights or any other rights belonging to us or third parties.

Article 11) Prohibition of Marketing Activities

Users are prohibited from using the Site for the purpose of profit, including marketing activities.

Article 12) Amendment of the Terms

We may make as many changes or amendments as we need to the Terms without users' prior consent, and the users shall accept that we are entitled to do so.
Such changes will be effective upon appearance on the Site.

Article 13) Disclaimer

We shall not be responsible for any loss or damages which may be incurred by users because of the use of the Site.

Article 14) Applicable Laws

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan.
